In a significant move to bridge the gap between academia and industry, the Oromia Industrial Parks Development Corporation (OIPDC) and Adama Science and Technology University (ASTU) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on fostering innovation and advancing industrial development in the region.
The signing ceremony took place at ASTU and was graced by the esteemed President of the University, Dr. Lemi Guta, and Miss Senait Mebrie, the CEO of OIPDC, alongside other high-ranking officials from both institutions. This partnership signifies a major step forward in aligning academic research with industrial needs, ensuring sustainable growth and development.

Under this agreement, ASTU will leverage its research and technological expertise to support OIPDC’s industrial initiatives, while OIPDC will provide practical industry exposure and innovation-driven opportunities to university researchers and students. The collaboration is expected to enhance knowledge transfer, promote sustainable industrialization, and create job opportunities within the region.
Dr. Lemi Guta expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its potential to drive forward technological advancements and industrial productivity.
