Built at a cost exceeding 22 billion birr, the factory stands on 110 hectares of land and is designed to produce both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages that meet international quality standards. With an annual production capacity of more than 3 million hectoliters, the plant is set to become one of Ethiopia’s largest beverage manufacturers.

Speaking at the event, Afe Work Legesse, CEO of Kegna Beverages, stated that the factory leverages a combination of local expertise and modern technology to deliver premium quality drinks to both domestic and international markets. The facility currently employs over 250 staff, and when it reaches full production, it is expected to create more than 1,000 jobs.

The CEO also noted that the company is committed to working with local farmers, supporting increased agricultural productivity, and contributing to livestock development through innovative systems.

Kegna Beverages S.C. is a shareholding company with over 4,000 shareholders, including individuals, cooperative societies, and domestic enterprises—making it a leading example of inclusive industrial growth rooted in local ownership and national pride.
