JETRO Pledges to Strengthen Ethiopian-Japanese Investment Ties

Addis Ababa – March 3, 2025 (ABN)

The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening investment cooperation between Ethiopia and Japan. This pledge follows a high-level meeting in Tokyo between Dr. Fisha Tagesu, CEO of the Ethiopian Industry Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), and JETRO Vice President Kazuya Nakajo, with the presence of Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Japan, Daba Debele.

During the meeting, Dr. Fisha outlined Ethiopia’s investment landscape, emphasizing key opportunities in industrial parks and beyond. He urged JETRO to actively engage Japanese investors in exploring Ethiopia’s expanding business environment. In response, Nakajo expressed JETRO’s readiness to promote Ethiopia’s investment potential to Japanese businesses, fostering stronger economic collaboration.

Both parties advocated for a dedicated platform to highlight Ethiopia’s investment prospects at the 2025 Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD) in Yokohama. This initiative is expected to attract more Japanese investments into Ethiopia’s priority sectors, reinforcing bilateral trade and economic ties.
