Chinese tech enterprise, Huawei, held a partners’ summit at Hilton Hotel on June 27, 2022 to promote the various services and products and acknowledge its partner companies that have been working in close collaboration on various projects. The event was graced by the presence of the state minister of innovation and technology (MINT), Huria Ali and other distinguished international and national partner companies.
The minister of MINT elaborated that Huawei is playing a pivotal role in Ethiopia’s bid to realize the goals of the Ethiopian Digital Strategy 2025 by introducing the latest technological innovations. She added that building a digital Ethiopia can not be realized by only working with domestic companies an d organizations but through an inclusive strategy that invites international tech corporations to join the technology and innovation arena.
Deputy CEO of Huawei Ethiopia, Cowin Cao, highlighted on his part that Huwaei Ethiopia has 158 local partners and has employed over 3,700 professionals in the process. Out of the total population of employees 70% of the jobs at the enterprise are held by local Ethiopian professionals. Huawei’s digital academies are also transferring knowledge to Ethiopian students in 23 universities across the country.
