The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, today received the Copies of Credentials from H.E. Mohammed Omar Ahmed Al-Marhoon, the newly appointed Ambassador of the League of Arab States (LAS) to Ethiopia and the African Union.
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed the longstanding bonds of solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the African Union (AU) and the League of Arab States. Their discussion emphasized the shared vision of advancing peace, stability, and sustainable development across the African and Arab regions.
The Chairperson and Ambassador Al-Marhoon also highlighted the importance of deepening their strategic partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which aims to further strengthen institutional collaboration and enhance coordinated efforts in addressing common challenges.
This renewed engagement marks another step forward in the AU LAS partnership, reinforcing the spirit of unity and mutual progress between Africa and the Arab world.
