She also pointed to the establishment of the Kilinto Industrial Park and ongoing macroeconomic reforms as clear indicators of the government’s commitment to fostering a robust and self-reliant healthcare ecosystem.
Dr. Leandre Basole, the AfDB’s East Africa Director, commended the Ethiopian government for its commendable support of the private sector. He expressed the bank’s willingness to explore further avenues of collaboration to strengthen Ethiopia’s health system. The AfDB delegation also engaged in productive discussions with representatives from Ethiopia’s private health sector, exploring opportunities for partnerships and investments that could drive innovation and sustainability in the country’s healthcare landscape. These talks marked a significant step forward in aligning efforts to achieve healthcare self-sufficiency and improve the overall well-being of the Ethiopian population.
