H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the African Union Commission, together with H.E. Muferihat Kamil Ahmed, Minister of Labour and Skills Development of Ethiopia, officially opened Africa Skills Week 2025, calling for a continent-wide movement to strengthen skills and innovation across Africa.

In his keynote address, the Chairperson underscored that Africa’s transformation lies in investing in its people and harnessing the power of science, technology, and innovation to drive inclusive growth and sustainable industrialization.
During the event, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf launched the Continental TVET Strategy 2025–2034, a bold framework designed to equip Africa’s youth with digital, green, and climate-smart skills essential for achieving the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want.

He further emphasized the importance of transforming Africa’s demographic dividend into a global force for innovation, sustainability, and prosperity, positioning the continent’s young population as the engine of its future growth.
